Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Skiv Inc. collects when you use Skiv and our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. The information we handle falls into a few categories:
- Account information you provide, such as your name and email address, if you create an account.
- Optional, anonymous usage and error telemetry that helps us prioritize fixes and features.
- Billing details processed by our payment provider if you subscribe to a paid plan.
- Content you explicitly send to hosted AI features, only when you choose to use them.
Your code and content
Skiv is a local-first editor. Your files stay on your device and are not transmitted to us as part of normal editing.
When you bring your own AI provider, requests go directly from your device to that provider. When you use a hosted AI plan, we process only the content you send to complete your request, and we do not use it to train models.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the editor and our website.
- To operate accounts, subscriptions, and billing.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important changes.
- To understand aggregate usage so we can make the product better.
How we share information
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the service — such as hosting and payment processing — and only to the extent needed to perform their work on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active, and delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period after you close your account, unless we must retain it to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices
- Turn optional telemetry off at any time in settings.
- Access, update, or delete your account information by contacting us.
- Use the editor without an account, and without any AI features.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including storing credentials in your operating system's secure credential store. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children's privacy
Skiv is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
